I've never known anyone yet who doesn't suffer a certain restlessness when autumn rolls around… We're all eight years old again and anything is possible.

— Sue Grafton

Restless.

That's a good word to describe how I'm feeling these days, caught between needs and wants.

Not material wants, but those Dream kind, and my inner 8-year-old believes they are still possible, still worth chasing.

I'm going for the gold…

…pursuing my dreams, polishing relationships with family and friends, trying to become a better me.

I never suspected that at 51, I would feel like an autumn leaf… a unique collage of colors, a beautiful blending of the seasons of my life.

I like this feeling.

My blog friend Jillsy has a weekly challenge, One Word Wednesday, and she let me pick this week's word: Gold.

Your Inner 8 Year Old is right – your dreams are ALWAYS worth chasing, pursuing, and holding hope for.
I’m in that restless place too ~ and not quite sure what my Dream is right now … but once I’ve identified it, I’ll be going for the gold too!
Great word choice – and a wonderful expression of its meaning to you.

Autumn does tend to bring the inner child out ~ it must be the memories of playing in the piles of leaves our parents raked up! Continue going for the gold, Barbara!

Any time of change is a wonder, and worthy of being noted as “golden”. I’ll look forward to hearing how it’s going.

Thanks, Jill. I'm going to try – but that's all that really matters, isn't it?
