I hoped to put my morning walk off until later, when the sun was higher (better light, better photos) and I had finished my work-out (the longer I put it off, the less likely I am to do it! It's better to catch myself before I'm fully awake!)
But Belle spotted me through the window; immediately her face lit up and her excitement erupted into a full body wiggle (she is the wiggling-est dog I've ever known – like she's made of a Slinky!)
Could anyone resist that? I dropped what I was doing, grabbed my camera, and headed out the door.
And I'm glad I did, because otherwise I wouldn't have been on the road, at the right place, at the right time, to witness Belle's first encounter with a tarantula.
Poor little thing was just minding its own business, trying to cross, and suddenly had to deal with crowds and paparazzi!
(No dogs or tarantulas were injured during this photo session, I promise!)
