Yes…that's a deer leg.

No…it's not a toy deer leg. 

And no, Max and Belle didn't kill it – we're sure now that the dead thing I spotted at the corner last week was a deer after all, and whoever/whatever killed it wasn't interested in the legs. My dogs must have found them (we had two in our yard!) on one of their adventures in the woods and felt obligated to do their part for nature (that's the mother in me speaking, of course.)

Sigh. (That's the deer/animal/anything feathered or furry-lover in me speaking.)
