Brilliant! And how lovingly perceptive of you to see the pain in Max’s eyes. You’re the Dog Spirit Lifter!!
So fun how they play together too. Kind of like all of us!

You are so right, Sally! I could have done a before/after photo of my eyes!!! I straggled in late last night after a long, full day (I'm so far behind on everything!) but was determined to join in because I enjoy playing this Word game with all of you. I haven't had a chance to read the other entries. First on my list for my free time later today!

She really did bring the puppy back out in him – an amazing difference! Of course, he's limping more from playing so much … but I think he feels it's worth it.

Me, too. It was a tough decision…we really didn't want to start all over with a new puppy. But just looking at the light in his eyes lets us know we made the right one.

Isn't it amazing? In person it's really noticeable. He just loves his puppy. I try not to think about Frankie…we still wonder about that. But seeing the joy in Max helps us not think about it.

Awww. Sorry to hear about your dog and how sad that made Max. I’m glad he’s got a new friend to cheer him up.
I had a schnauzer dog that I left with my parents. In the meantime, I got another dog, Cassie, and then moved back home, so both dogs were at my parents for awhile. I ended up moving out again, and my schnauzer passed away. The next time I went home with Cassie she looked all over for her buddy. It was one of those weird moments where I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry.

It is so heartbreaking, isn't it? Usually when we took one to the vet, the other would zoom out to check them out when they returned. Max just slipped into his doghouse when we returned and let him out of the house  – he didn't even look for Charly. He knew, and went into mourning right away. Broke my heart. I HAD to get him a puppy. And of course, I love little Belle now. I'm sure one day I'll have to get her a puppy, too. Sigh.

It truly was like night and day – you could see the light return to his eyes. Made me feel bad we were so reluctant to get him a puppy!! Congratulations on your new addition πŸ™‚
