Tom must have realized I was never going to give up on my dream of a library.
I'm sure he was just as tired of seeing dozens of boxes of books lining the downstairs walls as I was frustrated that all my books were still in boxes.
I think he also realized he would never have the time or money to build custom shelves from scratch, as he had planned.
Guess what he found on Craig's List this week?
It's just a start, but oh, isn't it a lovely start?
Eventually they'll go all the way to the ceiling and perhaps be painted white (they're all different types of wood), and if we can figure out how, I'd like to turn two stained glass windows we've had stored for ages into cabinet doors.
But even just as it is, I'm in book-lover heaven.
