In Irelands

Hope you're all having a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!

Perhaps it seems odd to post a photo of a cemetery on this day, but this is no ordinary cemetery. It's a Shallue plot in Ireland.

I didn't take the photograph, but I hope to visit it one day and pay my respects to my husband's ancestors.

Without further ado, here are my sweets of the week, beginning with Tuesday since I was late with them last week!

Tuesday: a call from your daughter letting you know her group arrived safe and sound at their destination

Wednesday: happy frogs singing to the stars

Thursday: reminders from your puppy to step away from the computer and wander outside, where you can here the chattering birds running waterfall

Friday: a morning with your parents; phone calls from, and in-person visits with, dear friends; home concerts by talented singer/songwriters, especially combined with a long-overdue visit with longtime friends

Saturday: a visit with your sister; eggs and bacon, cooked by your daddy

May there always be work for your hands to do;

 May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;

May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you!

    I hope you do make it to Ireland. I’ll assume the republic and not Northern Ireland but I’ve heard it is nice up there too. I believe most of their problems have settled down in Northern Ireland. Since you research genealogy your trip would be even a bigger treat.

    Our main destination would be County Clare – that's where the Shallue's lived before giving up and heading to the States. But I'd love to visit all of it!

    Yes, I’ve been to Ireland once. Just wanted to say that I’ve checked and re-checked all my settings and you should be able to leave a comment without being logged in… Several other WP bloggers have reported problems so I’m assuming it’s something that needs to be sorted out at a higher level by WP itself. When I have a bit of time, I’ll write to them to see if I can get some answers.
    Thanks for your patience… I had to fill in many forms with Blogger for a while before they had sorted out their new system…. so hopefully, this will right itself too!

    I have problems with Typepad off and on, too. And some Blogger blogs refuse to accept my Typepad login. I guess they have to keep up with all of the browsers, etc. but it can be so irritating when you've done nothing different and then suddenly it doesn't work, can't it?

    I think Yeats lived in County Clare, although he was born in County Dublin. Those crosses in the photo remind me of druid priests. Sláinte!

    I didn't realize Yeats was born there. Very cool! Thanks!
