Thinking of those babies in Connecticut tonight, and their teachers. The families left in mourning.

Thinking of the young man and how desperately sad he must have been…how full of despair and darkness…to do what he did.

Vowing to try harder to be a light in this world, instead of contributing to the darkness.

Me, too. I wish we could figure out how to head these attacks off.

I just can't imagine it. I've been subbing in our pre-k classes and keep seeing their precious faces.

Thank you, Lissa. I know it fades at times, though.

Nothing I can really say — just so sad about it all. Hoping time will help to heal.

Indeed. It is so easy to brim with darkness at this. I found myself, more than once this weekend, arguing with loved ones over what amounts to trivia when compared to this devastation. And I thought, “Is this how evil wins? Not by the overt act, but by the reaction?”
    I am trying to be a light…

It is, indeed, how evil wins. But it doesn't take much to overcome it… just a kind word or deed. (paraphrased from Gandalf in The Hobbit!)

Amen, Otto. And as a friend just pointed out, that's exactly what the first Christmas made available to us.
